Alpha Evenings – The Inception
Date: September 10, 2025
Time: 19:00
Location: Bybit EU Office, Symphony Offices, Gustav Mahlerplein 10, Amsterdam
On September 10 we hosted Alpha Evenings – The Inception in Amsterdam. This initiative, set up by Amsterdam Investment Club, focused on bridging the gap between talent in the digital assets space. The crypto knowledge partner for this event was the Student Blockchain Association Network of the Netherlands (SBAN).
During the event, Meyade Curfs – Lead Regional Sales Executive at Bybit – walked us through what made them successful in the Netherlands, Bybit's EU plans & strategy, and covered their latest product.
Merlijne Keuss – Business Development Manager at Quantoz guided us through how they changed the game in global money flows and payments.
Their session, Stablecoin Payments looked at how money flows across borders. A single international payment can pass through banks, FX desks, compliance checks, local clearing, and global messaging. This system was built to manage risk in a world without real-time computation or transparency. Today those limits no longer exist, and stablecoins represent the next step in payment infrastructure.
The sessions introduced Quantoz and explored the stablecoin payment world: faster, cheaper, and more programmable. It highlighted what Quantoz contributes with its NEXUS platform, which connects internal ledgers with blockchain, and explained Quantoz's stablecoins (EURQ, EURD, and USDQ), as well as the difference between e-money and e-money tokens.
Alpha Evenings x Treasury – Bitcoin Event
Date: November 6, 2025
Time: 19:00
Location: Bybit EU Office, Symphony Offices, Gustav Mahlerplein 10, Amsterdam
We wanted to make a post about our event but almost forgot about it. Why? Because our community already shared so much that we didn't even need to!
This shows that when you bring in good speakers and quality, marketing goes automatic, it is organic. And we are grateful to see the amazing community we are building.
The Alpha Evenings x Treasury event at Bybit NL in Amsterdam brought together some of the key voices shaping Bitcoin's future in Europe.
Khing Oei (CEO and Founder of Treasury) explained how Bitcoin Treasury Companies (BTCs) could become an institutional pathway to real Bitcoin exposure, raising capital through equity and debt, accumulating BTC, and experimenting with responsible ways of generating Bitcoin-yield.
This sparked debate: while Bitcoin maximalists question yield models, the discussion highlighted that thoughtful, transparent innovation still has space here.
Khing's wonderful story was followed by a panel with Pieter Voogt (The Dutch Bitcoin Embassy), Gareth Jenkinson (Cointelegraph), and Jos Lazet (Blockrise), who dug into deeper structural issues such as miner centralization, Knots vs Core, and how BTCs might help strengthen Bitcoin's economic and network foundations.
Beyond the talks, the evening was a reminder of why in-person communities matter: real conversations, shared curiosity, and new collaborations, whether around Bitcoin adoption, user off-ramps, or what's being built next.
The next few years will be formative for Bitcoin in Europe. BTCs are navigating a landscape full of innovation, skepticism, and possibility. The open question: who builds the future, and who endures?
Thanks a lot to all the attendants, incredible speakers, and Bybit EU for making this possible. We look forward to the next one! 🌙

Alpha Evenings – Web3 Liquidity Reimagined
Location: Private venue, Amsterdam
For our latest edition, we took Alpha Evenings to a more intimate setting in the heart of Amsterdam. An evening dedicated to one of the most fundamental topics in digital assets: liquidity.
At a private venue in the city, we welcomed guests for an evening focused on how liquidity actually forms in modern financial markets — from exchange infrastructure to market making and fund strategies — accompanied by wines, drinks, snacks, and alcohol-free beers.
Our speakers brought perspectives from different parts of the market ecosystem:
Meyade Curfs and Indy Rottier from Bybit EU shared how one of the world's largest crypto exchanges provides trading infrastructure and liquidity for digital asset markets.
Jeroom Decuypere from Keyrock gave insight into how a leading digital asset market maker approaches liquidity provision across exchanges and trading venues.
Jeremy Kadouch from MN Fund explored how a digital asset investment fund deploys systematic and opportunistic strategies in crypto markets.
The evening brought together professionals and students to discuss how liquidity is created, distributed, and managed across the crypto ecosystem — a conversation that bridged exchange infrastructure, market making, and fund strategies.
A great atmosphere, strong discussions, and a fantastic crowd. This event series is organized by Amsterdam Investment Club, with the Students Blockchain Association Netherlands (SBAN) as the crypto knowledge partner and Bybit EU as the main sponsor.
Looking forward to the next one 🌙
Alpha Evenings – MiCA Unpacked
Date: April 22, 2026
Our MiCA Unpacked edition gathered operators, lawyers, and compliance professionals at a private venue in Amsterdam for an evening on how MiCAR is moving from legislation to lived practice.
The panel worked through the developing landscape: token classification, licensing trajectories and EU passporting, AML/KYC expectations, enforcement trends, and where the framework may evolve next. A recurring theme: how compliance costs scale differently for startups versus established firms, and how the regulation will balance against crypto’s foundational principles of decentralization, non-custody, and pseudonymity.
Our speakers brought perspectives from across the regulatory and market landscape:
- Meyade Curfs (Bybit EU) — exchange infrastructure under evolving frameworks
- Willem Röell (De Roos) — financial markets regulation under MiCA
- Yamal Kalaf (MiCAR Whitepapers) — regulatory interpretation and implementation
- Peter Engering (Compliance Champs) — compliance frameworks and operational readiness
- Willem-Jan Smits (Watsonlaw) — legal considerations in crypto-asset structuring
Hosted by Mauro Lorenzo Halve (VBNL), with an additional contribution from Melissa Santonocito (Compliance Champs).
Organized by Amsterdam Investment Club with Students Blockchain Association Netherlands (SBAN) as knowledge partner and Bybit EU as platinum sponsor. Looking forward to the next one 🌙
Alpha Evenings – Token Special: Launching Tokens That Last
Date: Thursday, May 21, 2026
Time: 19:00 - 22:00
Location: Bybit EU Office, Symphony Offices, Gustav Mahlerplein 10, Amsterdam
For our Token Special, Launching Tokens That Last, we welcomed some of the brightest minds in crypto at Bybit EU’s office in Amsterdam. The evening explored what actually makes a token endure long after launch: fundamentals, distribution, narrative, regulation, and real utility.
We kicked off with an insightful keynote by David Schwartz, Projects & Strategic Partnerships Director at the Litecoin Foundation. David explored Litecoin’s journey as one of the longest-running blockchain networks, touching on decentralization, hard-capped monetary systems, optional privacy through MWEB, institutional adoption, MiCA compliance in Europe, and the role Litecoin could play as “digital silver” in the years ahead.
The discussion then moved into a dynamic panel with some of the industry’s most experienced operators:
- Meyade Curfs (Bybit EU): an exchange-side perspective on token listings, liquidity, market structure, regulation, and the signals that separate long-term projects from tokens that quietly disappear after launch.
- Leo Sizaret (StarkWare / Starknet Foundation): zero-knowledge technology, the future of on-chain confidentiality, and how they provide auditable privacy on-chain.
- Vincent Buis (Arbitrum Foundation): treasury management, DAO governance, capital allocation, and how large on-chain ecosystems navigate risk during periods of market stress.
- Martin de Rijke (Maple Finance): institutional DeFi, token value capture, protocol revenues, proof-of-reserves, yield products, and how sustainable token economics can be aligned with long-term protocol growth.
Across the evening we worked through what truly drives long-term token value, how successful projects measure utility beyond price action, the tension between tokens as coordination mechanisms, fundraising instruments, and financial products, why some tokens fail despite strong technology while others thrive with weaker technology, revenue models across major crypto ecosystems and whether protocol revenues are really captured by token holders, and the future of privacy and institutional adoption in crypto.
A big thank you to our panel host for the evening, Vince van Hoesel, founder of the Students Blockchain Association Netherlands. Alpha Evenings is brought to you by Amsterdam Investment Club, with knowledge partner Students Blockchain Association Netherlands and platinum sponsor Bybit EU. Looking forward to the next one 🌙
